Enjoy catfish, lots of sides, drinks, fellowship and knowing you're helping Logan!

Logan suffered devastating injuries on August 9, 2007 when the go cart he was on was hit by a car. He spent 18 days in P.I.C.U. at St. Francis in Tulsa, another 8 days in in-patient rehab, went home for a week, only to be rushed back to the ER for more surgery and another 2 weeks in the hospital. He then transferred to Shriner's Children's Hospital in Chicago where he remains with a scheduled return home date of November 16, 2007 if all goes as planned.

His prognosis at this point is that he will be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. This is a 13 year old boy who was a soccer and track star. He was the definition of an active and competitive young man. He is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and was about to start 8th grade when the accident happened. This has been catastrophic to his family to say the least.

All the proceeds from the Fish Fry will be going to the Medical Fund account which has been set up to assist his family with the payment of all the windfall of expenses they are and will be incurring.

We expect 300 to 500 people to attend, and of course hope for even more. It is being held at Herald Elementary in the cafeteria. The date is Saturday, October 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. We are getting everything donated so that ALL funds go to the fund for the family to pay medical bills.

Book Club Change
The Comedy of Errors Book Club has changed their meeting time in the hopes that many of you can join us for a brown bag lunch and enjoy our book of the month. We can wrap up the discussion by 12:45 for those needing to return to work. Bring your lunch and Friends of the Collinsville Library will provide coffee and tea.

We will meet on the third Tuesday of the Month in the Collinsville Library Meeting Room at 11:45. The book discussion will begin at High Noon...Since this is a new date and time we do not have a book for November 20...so I will do the honors and review
Sink Reflections by the Flylady.

I will have copies of the book for December for you at that meeting and the next COE Book Club meeting will be on December 18th at 11:45 with the discussion starting at High Noon.

Looking forward to this new date and time and hopeful many of you can join us. These book discussions are full of laughter and camaraderie...I think you will enjoy time spent at COE.

Your Library Lady,
Susan (596-2840)
On Tuesday, October 9th, First Baptist Church Mother's Day Out went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch at the First United Methodist Church of Owasso. More than 50 children attended. I am attaching a picture of a few of them. The date on the digital camera is wrong--please forgive me.-- Angela Pitts
