Collinsville Ties
With the Rotnie Clarke basketball "phenomena" in Verdigris getting lots of media attention during the post season, I was asked by a cvilleok.com fan to says a bit about the Clarke's Collinsville roots.
I must admit I haven't kept up with the previous generation of Clarke's since they graduated from Collinsville High School: Wendy in 1964, Rocky in 1967, Becky in 1971, Kelly in 1975, and Conley in 1980. Their parents were W. L. and Jamie Clarke.

Rocky Clarke (a 1967 CHS grad) guided his 2A Washington girls to another State Championship March 10th, 2007.
The 3A Verdigris boys with Rotnie Clarke (son of assistant coach Conley and nephew of his head coach Kelly) came up a day short of a State title this year (to Millwood) but he put up some remarkable numbers along the way. Rotnie's sister, Cassie, helped the Verdigris girls make a strong run for a title also. Another Verdigris/Collinsville connection is Colton Overholt who played on the Verdigris basketball team this year after transfering from Collinsville. Colt's dad is former Collinsville City Commissioner Brad Overholt.
The Collinsville 7th & 8th grade track teams are competing at Skiatook today (March12th). The CHS track teams will be at the Skiatook 9am Thursday March 15th.
The CHS baseball team beat Bristow 19-6 according to the Tulsa World line scores. The baseball Cards travel to Mannford today and Hilldale will be in Collinsvile Tuesday.
Email received 3/13 from Ron Phelps: Ted, Another Verdigris / Collinsville connection is Center Adam Hollon. He is the son of 1975 Collinsville graduate Paul Hollon.
