Collinsville Dairy Capitol 4-H Club members (above) spent Saturday June 16th at the American Legion Parking lot collecting cell phones, clothing, shoes and papers for the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Project. (Previous Coverage) |
Our final Keep Oklahoma
Beautiful project is to plant 100 Zinnias. We will be meeting by the 4-H
Building Wednesday June 20th at 9am and then proceeding to Cardinal
Corner (5th and Main) and the S-curve to plant our flowers. The Collinsville
Garden Club will be assisting. Everyone is asked to bring small hand shovels
for digging and garden gloves if you want. We will also be assisting with
the clean up of the plants already planted at these locations- ie removing
dead branches (plants) picking up trash, spreading mulch, ect. In case of rain we will try to move the planting day to Friday or Saturday. So far we've done a great job and as a club we have exceeded the 6 projects we were asked to do! WAY TO GO! Deb Lutz, Club Leader (June 19, 2007) |

Mark
Dixon Benefit
|
My name is Sheila Murphy-Wells and my 15 year old daughter is trying to help a family in need and she needs cvilleok.com's help. She is on a mission to raise money to help Mark & Coral Dixon. Mark Dixon has had several surgeries and is currently recuperating in a Dallas Hospital. The family is in a financial crisis with the growing medical bills. Coral is not working and is living in a Dallas hotel to stay close to Mark. We have been receiving updates from Coral via email, and her most recent email says that the hospital is trying to make arrangements to send Mark back to Tulsa by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital, 5th floor. They need all the help they can get right now and every little bit helps and we currently have a donation location set up at First Baptist Church in Collinsville. Donations can be made through the Church, send to the attention of Linda McFarland at 1301 W. Main. We will be having "The Mark Dixon Benefit Car Wash" at American Bank on Sunday July 15th from 2-4pm. We are also in the process of setting up a pie auction, pancake breakfast and benefit dinner. Anyone wanting to help out with anything can contact Sheila Murphy-Wells at 361-0806 or Myranda Murphy at 521-2995. (June 19, 2007) |
