Ted, I wanted to share these pictures of the C’ville Sluggers softball team after receiving their trophy for 3rd place in playoffs. I do not know the full names of all the girls so I did not send any names. The coaches, parents and family are very proud of the Sluggers hard work this year. I thought you could post these pictures on your site for everyone to enjoy. -- Thanks, Melissa Whitlock

If the new city trash truck arrives as expected this Wednesday (July 11th), the city will be collecting it's own trash as soon as Monday July 16th. That would be for residential collection according to City Clerk Kelly Young. Waste Connections will continue commercial pickup for a few more weeks while commercial dumpsters are swapped out. The city is purchasing the existing residential polycarts from Waste Connection. A map of the new city trash collection areas -vs- days is expected this week.

Can You Help Finish The Animal Shelter?
Friends,
We are looking for volunteers to help frame in animal shelter on July 14th at 8:00 am...till????

If you have a few hours free on the 14th and could help us you would be greatly appreciated and given snacks and cold drinks.

We can use all types of help that day. The shelter is located at 129th E. Ave and 56th street N....or easier ... one mile north of 5th and Main in Collinsville...

If anyone has a big industrial fan I am sure that would come in handy.

We will all be singing, "If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning...." Bring your tools if you want... but we will have some on site as well.

Let me know; if you can help out on the 14th....
Tks much, Susan Babbitt

I don't know exactly what they were celebrating Sunday July 8th (at the Nazarene Church at 12th & Broadway) but they seemed to be having a fun time. -- Ted (from my view out the back door of the Newspaper Museum).
