All persons interested in attending the Regularly Scheduled School Board Meeting for Collinsville Public Schools, Independent District I-6, should make plans to attend the meeting at the following date, time and place to wit: Date: Monday Jan. 8, 2007 -- Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Education Service Center, 1119 West Broadway, Collinsville OK 74021

1) Call to Order and Roll Call of Members.
2) Record of Members Present and Absent.
Present: Donna Sears, Steve Stout, & Joe Hampton
Absent: Wendell Johnson (death in family) & Memory Ostrander (at Governor's Inaguration/ball in OKC).
3) Presentation by the Constituency. -- none
4) Reading of Minutes - Dec. 6, 2006 Regular Meeting. -- approved
5) Approval of Purchase Orders and Payment of Purchase Orders - FY2007 General, Building Funds and Building Bond 2006 and FY06 General, Building Fund Reserves and All District Funds - Approval of Budgets, Reports, Allocations and Investments. -- approved
6) Discussion and Vote to Approve Activity Fund Fund-raisers. -- approved
7) Discussion and Review of Property Liability Insurance and Vote to Accept Recommendation of Duncan Duvall, Southwest General, Agency of Record. -- Chandler's Insurance Manager's low bid accepted from the 4 bids received.
8) Discussion and Possible Board Action Regarding Appointment of 2007 OSSBA Leglislative Liason. -- Wendell Johnson was approved.
9) Discussion and Vote to Appoint Assistant Minutes Clerk. -- Rita Pate was approved.
10). Discussion and Vote to Declare Surplus -- Old Band Uniforms.
-- approved, including a request for one uniform for the Newspaper Museum and possibly others to former band students, then discards.
11) Resignations: -- approved
--a) Juanita "Nikki" Salisbury, Herald Special Needs & Bus T.A.
--b) Sue Schmidt, MS Gym Lunchroom Manager

12) Hiring of Personnel to Fill Current Vacancies: -- approved
--a) CNP Head Cook, PT to FT Cook and PT Cook, Herald -- Donna Reeder is new hire and several others moving up in position.
--b) Herald, Special Needs & Bus T.A. -- Donita Lowe

13) Assistant Superintendent's Report. -- Terry Due's report:

  • good progress at new ECC building
  • new track: fence work continues; sod work delayed for bio-degradable underlying mesh for field in center of track; latex top surface must wait for a week of temperatures at least 50 degrees.


14) Superintendent's Report.
-- Pat Herald's report:

  • Kathy Williams reviewed Collinsville's Safety & Emergency Action Plans as part of her OU Dr's thesis studies. She complemented Collinsville's plans compared to 81 other schools she had reviewed.

15) Announcements.

  • Congratulations offerred to the CHS basketball teams
  • New students in 2007 so far (10 at CHS, 2 at MS, 5 or 6 at Herald)


16) New Business: Janice Pollard recommended (& the board approved) hiring Angie Means as an intervention specialist on a temporray contract. This position and other expenditures are possible due to a $63,000 grant to focus on enriching services to younger students at risk of being special needs students later. Library, reading, math and computer skills are just a few of the areas which are planned for enhancement.
