As 2006 comes to an end, Nu Eta (Beta Sigma Phi) holds dear its accomplishments with pride and fond memories and looks forward to 2007 with eagerness and excitement.

The year 2006 brought about many opportunities to share, to assist, and to give to others that with which we have been blessed. Nu Eta has had the opportunity to help DVIS with some of their needs such as basic toiletries and clothing items for the women and children who seek refuge there. Nu Eta chose the opportunity to spread the true meaning of Christmas by helping a family to have a merrier Christmas. Gifts of clothing and, of course, toys for the children, were joyously purchased and given to the family. Another of our service projects for the year has been a scholarship to a local high school student. Because of Nu Eta's desire to help others, another need has been met.

Of course, Nu Eta has also found time to spend with our sisters through socials and Tulsa City Counsel functions. Nu Eta looks forward to being together. Each sister finds fellowship, acceptance, learning opportunities, and, love.

Should Nu Eta peak an interest or a desire to learn more about us, please call Roberta Hugill at 396-0122 or call Beta Sigma International at (816) 444-6800. You may also check us out on the internet at www.betasigmaphi.org.

Mr. Wright:

Nu Eta is a chapter of an international organization for women. Nu Eta is a chapter made up of women from Collinsville, Owasso, Skiatook and Tulsa. We have been a chapter for approximately 10 years. We have done numerous service projects helping meet needs for Collinsville people not just for Christmas, but rather throughout the entire year. Our chapter has been represented in the Collinsville Christmas parades several years and has won awards for those floats.

Change on German Corner -- The former Piggly Wiggly grocery between Collinsville and Owasso has changed owners and names. The new "Las Americas" store will be adding more Hisanic products according to recent TV and Tulsa World reports. There are two existing stores in Tulsa.
Progress continues on the new Early Childhood Center (ECC) adjacent to Herald Elementary on 129 E. Ave south of Collinsville.
I spotted this drawing posted inside City Hall showing a possible design (by Landplan) for the plaza area on the closed portion of 12th Street east of City Hall. I have not heard a construction start date but the dedication of the plaza (in Sept. 2007) was submitted as an Oklahoma Centennial event last year.
