Collinsville Native American
Student's CDIB's Needed
The Collinsville Indian Education Program would like to remind all parents of Native American students enrolled in Collinsville Public Schools to please send a copy of the child's Certificate of Degee of Indian Blood (CDIB). If the child is of Cherokee descent PLEASE send a copy of their membership card to the Indian Ed. Office. If parents need to apply for a card for their child, the Indian Education Program has applications for several different tribes.

Students who are Seniors need to send their cards to the Indian Education Office before September 14, 2007, so they will be enrolled in the Johnson O'Malley Indian Education Program. They will be eligible to get part of their senior caps, gowns and one tassel paid for. Juniors and Seniors are eligible to get one ACT/SAT Test fee reimbursed per school year.

Basic school supplies are given out to all Johnson O'Malley students Preschool through 12th grade who have their CDIB cards, at the beginning and throughout the school year.

If you have any questions please contact the Indian Education Office at 371-5449.

Thank you,
Janice Fields

Youth football teams have been preparing for weeks. Their season begin Aug. 25. (I will add games to the cvilleok.com events calandars when I receive a copy ... likely Monday games? -- Ted).
Carnival & Fair & Parade This Week
With Collinsville's Tri-County Fair starting Thursday Aug. 23rd (schedule of events) a Carnival has just been added this week due to a late flood cancellation in another city. Kids are being encouraged to rides their bikes in the fair parade Saturday.
I was surprised to see action on the baseball field last week while covering a softball game at the adjacent field. Found out there will be two Collinsville based teams in a fall league that will play games at O'Brian Park in Tulsa.
2007 CHS Homecoming Parade
The parade will be Friday Sept. 7th beginning at 3:30pm. Lineup will begin at 2:45 at the City Park. When you get to the park, please use the West entrance and drive all the way until you see a parked float.!There will not be a line-up order. Please, please, please do not stop and park until you move as far up as you can! The parade will travel the same route as it has the past 2 years. All floats must have a parent riding, a parent driving and a passenger riding to help watch the float. This includes middle school and high school floats. No 4-wheelers, go-carts, motorcycles etc. Candy throwing will be allowed as long as it is not thrown directly at any person or vehicle. You do not have to call to enter your float but if you have any questions call Missy DeLozier at the High School at 371-3382.
