Kevin Phillips (#11) gained all the way from the Cardinal 9 down to the Grove 30 yard line on this 3rd quarter keeper. That drive stalled with Grove taking over on downs at their 25 with 3:42 left in the 3rd.
Kyle Rush (#32) and Jared Billups (#4) combined on this Grove stop near mid field. Grove lated punted to the Cardinal 16 with 1:10 left in the 3rd and still only up by 7 points. Collinsville gained out to the 30 before punting
early in the 4th quarter. That Billups punt appeared (to me) to have been touched by a Grove player and recovered by Collinsville at the Grove 40. The ball was instead awarded to Grove and they drove for the 2nd touchdown of the game (finished by a 37 yard keeper) at 6:40 in the 4th. Kyle Rush blocked the PAT and Grove led 0-13.
Down 13 points in the 4th quarter Collinsville kept looking for a way to reach the endzone. Their next drive covered from their own 27 to Grove's 29. This play was early in that drive but produced no yards as the pass hit Garrett Thurman (#34 coming out of the backfield) in the back downfield. The drive ended on a fumble at 3:22 in the 4th
Grove scored their final touchdown with 42.8 seconds remaining in the game on a 33 yard keeper moving the final score to 0-20.
Kevin Phillips returned the last Grove kickoff (above) out to the Card's 32 yard line with time for one more attempt but the pass was intercepted by Grove.
