The Girl Scouts of Troop 690 were working at the Victory Cemetery May 18th as a community service project towards their bronze badge.

The Tulsa City-County Library Commission met at the Collinsville Library Thursday May 18th for their regular business meeting. William C. Kellough presided and Linda Saferite presented a report on activities at Collinsville and other Tulsa County libraries. Collinsville Mayor Stan Sallee and City Manager Pam Polk welcomed the library official to Collinsville and echoed the praise given our local library and staff by the commission.

This two hour documentary explores America's darkest period: President Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act of 1830 and forced removal of the Cherokee Nation to Oklahoma in 1838.

The 2004 Rich Heape film is titled "The Trail of Tears, Cherokee Legacy" and is presented by Wes Studi and narrated by James Earl Jones.
Thousands of Cherokees died during the Trail of Tears, nearly a quarter of the Nation. They suffered beyond imagination and when they finally arrived in Indian Territory, they arrived almost without any children and with very few elders, in a way they arrived with no past and no future.
