Plenty of Smoke / No Apparent Flames

Collinsville City Fire, Police and EMS responded to a call Sunday about 2:30pm for dark heavy smoke coming from the roof of Rick's Custom Butchering. The smoke was apparently from a smoldering grease fire and venting out through the roof cap shown above. The fire crew prepared their gear and hoses and waited with axes ready several minutes for the owner with the key. They never took their hoses in but instead used rated fire extinquishers for the grease fire and eventually cleared the smoke with minimal damage.
