Main Street Group Forming
Main
Street Program Managers Met Here
Program
Managers from the Oklahoma Main Street Communities of Okmulgee, Tahlequah, Claremore,
Eastside Capital Gateway in OKC and Collinsville met in Collinsville Friday
with Linda Stinnett of the State Main Street Program. They were greeted (above)
by Collinsville Mayor Stan Sallee who also gave a tour of the nearly completed
City Hall (right).
While
the Main Street meeting and tour were being conducted Friday morning, the new
exterior lights were installed at City Hall.
The
visiting Main Street Program Managers missed this initial night time view with
the newly installed exterior light brightening the corner of 11th and Main in
Collinsville.
The
offices of city administrative staff were getting organized to prepare for opening
Tuesday Jan. 16th following the move from the temporary city hall. The office
(above) is upstairs.
The
familiar city "bill paying" area downstairs at city hall has been
restored but the drive-up window has been eliminated.
Busy
Day -- CHS students Alyssa Fields, Marci Sink, Chelsee Calhoun, Shelbi Phelps,
Kaleb Hamilton and Cody Kite helped out with the Main Street meeting above,
toured City Hall and the Newspaper Museum, and then helped stuff handout bags
with Collinsville info for Houston based Conoco Phillips families being transferred
to Bartlesville jobs. This group (and others they will recruit) will form a
Junior Main Street organization for Collinsville. Contact Nancy
Phelps if you would like to join or help support this new endeavor.
