Re: Back to School Night
October 4, 2005

Collinsville Middle School will have a back to school night on Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers and to follow your child's class schedule. The bell will ring for you to go from classroom to classroom with a five minute passing period in between.
Students are also welcome to attend. There will not be enough time for parents to talk to their child's teachers about specific situations or concerns. Appointments to discuss these
matters can be made through the office at 371-2541.

Parent Teacher conferences will be:
October 18th 4-7 p.m.
October 19th 8-11 a.m.
Parents need to call to schedule appointments through the office secretary at 371-2541.
The Collinsville Middle School teachers above were learning the details of setting up and using the new Classroom Performance System (CPS) Tuesday Sept. 27, 2005. The system with individual student responders (or clickers resembling a TV remote control) allows students to transmit their answers to the teacher's receiver (the blue unit on top of their computers above) and instantly report the results from the entire classroom. This new tool will soon be in use at the middle school and not only allows quick feedback to see how many students are grasping the concepts as they are presented, but can be used to speed multiple choice test taking and reporting and tracking.
Teachers can present displayed or verbal questions to the students in a classroom and collect the answers as soon as the students click in their answers.
