Collinsville had driven to Miami's 25 yard line in the second quarter but stalled facing 4th and 17. Following a time out to talk it over, Collinsville went for it and David Chester (#82) was this close to catching this Tyler Chronister (#5) pass in the end zone. The ball had been deflected by the defender.
Aaron Watts (#35) stopped this Miami ball carrier for a 2-yard loss in the 2nd quarter but on the next play Miami connected on a 77 yard pass/run to score their first touchdown at 6:22 in the 2nd quarter. Miami's PAT kick was wide and Collinsville still had a 7-6 lead.
Lance Kite (#30) picked up 4 yards on this carry early in the second quarter. Nick Rabbit was the main ball carrier for the Cards. Lenard Creek was not suited up for this game having played hurt much the previous week.
Aaron Thomas (#62) was first through the banner to bring the team onto the field for the second half. Miami had scored another touchdown 1:25 before half and made a 2-point conversion to go up 7-14.
Aaron Watts (#35) and another Cardinal defender sacked the Miami quarterback on the 2nd play of Miami's initial 2nd half possession. On the next play Miami took a screen pass 63 yards for a touchdown and a 7-21 lead at 10:56 in the 3rd quarter.
Aaron Watts (#35), Kevin Phillips(#36) and Adam Thomas (#81) combined on this tackle which caused the Miami ball carrier to lose the ball but it rolled out of bounds before the Cards could reach it in 3rd quarter action.
