Collinsville has a fantastic garden club, The Green Thumb Garden Club has been in existence since April 9, 1953. They meet in the Library the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting is June 9th at 1:00 in the Collinsville Library Meeting room. The topic is, “This Pond is a Barrel of Fun.”

They are looking for new members to join them. These ladies have an abundance of knowledge which they will be happy to share with you. One of the benefits of belonging to the group is that they divide and share plants with members. If you are interested in gardening let me recommend The Green Thumb Garden Club. Visitors are welcome.

Josh Allen
Named An
All-American Scholar

The United States Achievement Academy announced that Joshua R. Allen from Collinsville, OK has been named an All-American Scholar.

The USAA has established the All-American Scholar Award Program to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disiplines. The All-American Scholars must earn a 3.3, or higher, grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school instructor, counselor, or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA.

Josh Allen, who attends Collinsville High School, was nominated for this national award by Ginger Limbocker. Josh will appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, which is published nationally.

"Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever in America's history. Certainly, winners of the All-American Scholar Awards should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement," said Dr. George Stevens, Executive Director of the United States Achievement Academy.

Josh is the son of Jim and Carrie Allen of Collinsville. Grandparents are Jack Freeman and the late Jackie Allen of Collinsville and Jerry and Lisa Warford of Salina, OK.
