Collinsville Makeover -- March 8-9, 2005 -- Collinsville, OK -- www.cvilleok.com

Back in November 2004 when Shawn Clark of Collinsville heard that the TV makeover show "While You Were Out" would be in the Tulsa area, he visited their web site and filled out an entry that took about 2 and a half hours. In December he received a call from a producer asking for photos and video. In January they came to visit the house and taped an interview with him. All of this went on without his wife's knowledge (which a requirement of the show). In February Shawn was informed that his project application had been accepted. His wife Kerri was fooled in to leaving town two days this week for the bedroom makeover with an invitation to a murder-mystery bed & bath resort in Guthrie with a friend.

"While she was out" the crew from The Discovery Channel's TV program spent two days redoing her master bedroom while her husband and son Christopher got to watch the transformation here in Collinsville. Shawn said his wife was completely surprised and "estatic" with the results when she returned and walked into a bedroom with waiting cameras rolling. He said it was a great experience, "one of the best and most fun ... short of my wedding and birth of our kids".

Shawn said he and his wife answered their challenge questions correctly and won some extra prizes. The program will likely air in 6-8 weeks. -- Ted
