The
skies west of Collinsville were looking ominous as I left the house headed toward
the baseball tournament at the CHS baseball field Thursday evening.
Collinsville
was scheduled to play the 5th game of the day at about 7pm, but game 3 was still
in progress as the second extra inning game of the day. This Pawhuska batter
tried unsuccessfully to bunt in a run in the 10th inning against Skiatook then
ended up hitting a single instead to make it 2-1. Skiatook then picked up a
run in their half of the 10th to tie it back up going into the 11th.
I left at about 7pm with
lightning not far off to the north and wondering if Collinsville would ever
get a change to play tonight. Not long afterwards it was raining. I don't
know if Pawhuska & Skiatook decided a winner before the rain?
I
was back at the Newspaper Museum (unwilling to turn on my computer due to the
lightning) when my roof and car were pounded with about five minutes of small
sized hail. Laugh, if you want, but I wasn't sure how big the hail was going
to get when I tossed the door mats on the windshield. -- Ted 3/24/05
I'm
not sure how Friday's schedule will be adjusted.
Just
drove out to the ball field to see what was happening and nothing was with pools
of water standing on the infield ... but was told the games have moved to Bixby
