Hopper
Smith of Oklahoma City based Chesapeake
Energy Corp. had asked Senator Randy Brogdon recently if he knew of worthy
organizations that could use some used vehicles. Brogdon contacted Collinsville
officials and Fire Chief Russell Young described specifications for a truck
that could be turned into a grass fire rig. Those conversations turned into
reality today as a 2001 Chevy truck was donated by Chesapeake Energy to the
Collinsville Fire Department. Chief Young indicated a skid unit would be mounted
on the truck to create a grass fire rig. Tulsa County Commissioner Wilbert Collins
was among the crowd that gathered at the new Collinsville Fire/EMS building
July 14th for the presentation.
