Collinsville Mystery Photo #2

Hint1: It is NOT at the old City Hall / Fire Station. Hint2: It is a recent photo of part of the back of a downtown building built in 1916 and damaged by a 1940 tornado. Hint3: You can see it from Broadway or the Education Services Center (ESC) parking lot.
Susan Catlett, Karen White and Elizabeth Sullivan correctly identified the location of mystery photo #2.

The location for mystery photo #2 is in the alley in the block east of old City Hall. It shows the remains of the opera house stage that was destoyed by a tornado in 1940. Woody Wilson's welding shop was in the remaining portion of the opera house for many years. The pink windows were painted in the Diane Woodruff era in the 1980s.
This early day Collinsville photo was taken inside the Brown Opera House from that old stage.

Mystery Photo #3 -- above was NOT taken in Collinsville, but rather facing towards Collinsville on a new highway under construction many years ago.
-- Ted Wright (Jan. 31, 2005)

(Angie Shoulders has correctly identified the location with no hints -- 2/1)
(Bob Wolfram is the second winner for mystery photo #3. -- 2/1)
(Eddie Fleming was the third to correctly ID the location -- 2/2)

Hint1:
The same location today would be in the city limits of one of our neighboring communities (2/1). Hint2: Photo was taken in Owasso, what street runs under the bridge in the fore ground of the photo? (2/2)

This is a more recent photo (from a slightly different lane and angle) but still
looking north on Highway 169 closest to 76th St. North in Owasso.
The orginal
mystery photo #4 above was taken in early 1960s as Highway 169 was being
completed but stopped just past 86th St. North at the base of the hill. The highway
now curves to the east going up the hill instead of following Garnett as it did
in the old photo. All the businesses that now line the highway thru Owasso were not even started until after the old photo. -- Ted 2/2

Collinsville Mystery Photo #1

Doug Wakefield, Susan Catlett and Karen White were first to email this location correctly.

The location of mystery photo #1 was the Chamber of Commerce's sign at the entry to Collinsville High School off Broadway (& Highway 20).

Mystery Photo #4 has nothing to do with Collinsville, but was chosen in the spirit of the upcoming Super Bowl. The year was 1979 and the punter was also the quarterback. Can you name the quarterback and the team. I'll show the rest of the photo after I get a few correct answers. I took the photo at the only professional football game I've attended and in this format I call it "block that towel" -- Ted Wright 2/2/2005.
Just for fun ... do you know the quarterback and team name?
Winners: Ron Phelps and Eddie Fleming both provided the correct answer with no hints 2/2.

Here is the rest of the photo which will serve as the first hint for at least one more to identify the team and quarterback/punter. -- Ted 2/2

With Justin Howard's correct answer this morning 2/3 ... I'll post the answer which is:

Danny White (#11) and the Dallas Cowboys were playing the New York Giants in this fall 1979 photo. The Cowboys won the Jan. 1978 Superbowl and lost the Jan 1979 Superbowl.
