Five new directors were elected to the Collinsville Downtown, Inc. Board of Directors at their February meeting. The new members are Steve Howe of Bank of the Lakes, Rick Hall of Rick's Custom Meat Processing, Sarah Dodson of Collinsville Chamber of Commerce, Beth Ann Langston of Home Town Real Estate, and Leslie Russell of Uptown Hair Salon. Also elected to the Board of Directors as an advisory member was Jim Whitlock of the City of Collinsville.

Other business discussed was the announcement of the 2005 Hogs N Hot Rods steering committee has begun meeting for this year's event. This nationally recognized event will be held on Saturday, June 11th. The steering committee will meet at Grey Beards the final Monday each month to prepare for the festival. Anyone wishing to be involved can contact the Main Street office to sign up.

Three committees gave reports on their February efforts. The Design committee reported they are working on two grants. The ER committee is working on a main street district survey to put together a shopping and business guide. The organization committee will be undertaking a membership drive over the next couple of months.

The Valentines Dinner and Dance was a huge success with the committee members selling twenty-two tickets over the goal. Board members that were on hand to serve guests were LuAnn & Steve Hennessee, Mary & George Risley, Sarah Dodson, James Rigdon, Brad Francis, and Mike Lames. A special thank you to everyone who came out in support of the evening.

The next meeting of the Collinsville Downtown, Inc.'s Board of Directors will be Tuesday March 29th.The board meets the final Tuesday of each month. Any agenda items for the board's review can be submitted through the Main Street office at 371-5530 by Thursday, March 24th.
