Collinsville Beat Barnsdall 8-0
Collinsville Beat Miami 4-1 &
Collinsville Beat Grove 1-0

By Debi Whisenhunt --

At Barnsdall in our season opener Aug. 9, we won 8-0. Pitcher Kelli Dunagan gave up only one hit and had 14 stike-outs. Offensively the Lady Cardinals were very stong. Nine different girls had hits in the game. They were Taylor Whisenhunt, Hillary Brown, Kelli Dunagan, Rebyl Richardson, Ali Schultheiss, Jordan Perkins, Lindsey Dawson, Danielle Kern and Lindsey Curtis.

Whisenhunt, Dunagan, Schultheiss, Perkins and Kern all picked up the RBI's at Barnsdall

At the Pryor Festival Aug. 12, we played two games. The first one was against Maimi. The Lady Wardogs scored first to take the early lead in the first inning but the Lady Cardinals answered back in the second inning with three runs. With two outs, a pair of errors allowed base runners on and Amanda Bolien and Danielle Kern had consecutive base hits to score the runners. A fourth run was scored in the fourth inning when Lindsey Dawson was brought in on a sacrifice fly out to right field by Taylor Whisenhunt. Kelli Dunagan pitched the game. Miami had 4 hits and 9 strike-outs. The final score was 4-1.

The second game was against Grove. Taylor Whisenhunt got a lead off double, Hillary Brown's sacrifice bunt moved her to third and Rebyl Richardson scored Whisenhunt for the only run of the game. The Collinsville defense was strong behind Dunagan's pitching. Kelli gave up only one hit and had 9 strike-outs.
