The Collinsville City Commission met Tuesday, Sept. 7th
at 7pm (at the City Hall Annex, 1126 West Main) for the regular meeting of the Municipal Authority and Commission.

Ted Note: This will only be a partial coverage of the city meet as I was also sitting in on the school board meet.

City Commission:

The Downtown/Neighborhoods Improvement Committee brought a portion of their recommendations to the commission for approval to contract with Landplan Consulants Inc. for $14,965. Landplan will design a streetscape plan and interface with citizens for feedback and ODOT for grant funds.

Main Street will be closed for the Chamber's annual Holiday Parade Dec. 11th (14th to 7th Street / 10:30 - noon).

The commission was informed of ongoing efforts to build a new animal shelter for Collinsville by a volunteer group: Friends of the Collinsville Animal Shelter.

The commission approved an ordinance increasing the restricted zone from 500 ft to 1000 ft for sexually oriented businesses aound churches and other locations frequented by youth.

City Planner Bob Wolfram also asked commission direction on future ordinances for siltation and earth changes to keep up with increasing water quality regulations. Wolfram also asked for and received approval to investigate any fenceline / annexation changes that should be considered along development corridors.

Municipal Authority:

The trustees approved the new rates for commercial and residential trash collection (solid waste collection and disposal). I will add those rates when I have the complete set available.[see 9/14 addition below ... not sure when new carts/dumpsters will be available]
