Magic Kickoff Return? -- I can't tell you how he did it, but Cody Brown (#1) returned this kickoff (after Berryhill went up by two touchdown in the first quarter) to Berryhill's 25 yard line. The play appeared over for several seconds as players looked around (as confused as I was?) but the whistle never blew and suddenly Cody is off to the races setting up Collinsville's first score of the season (below). -- Ted
Tight end David Chester (#82) scored a Collinsville touchdown on the first play of the second quarter on this 11 yard pass from QB Tyler Chronister.
Travis Blaskey (#45) kicks the extra point after the Cards touchdown (above). That brought the score to 7-14 early in the second quarter. Travis also kicked a field goal for Collinsville late in the 3rd quarter bringing the score then to 10-27. The line of scrimmage for the FG was the 30 yard line.
Collinsville was not able to overcome all the plays like this with late pitches to trailing backs, as well as several Card fumbles and long Berryhill passes.
Justin Scott (#31) took the handoff from Tyler Nair (#7) and followed his blockers for a 12 yard gain early in the first quarter.
