14-7 Half Lead
Slips Away in
14-24 Loss
The Cardinals (& Carson the Cardinal) raise their helmets for the opening kickoff against Glenpool Friday Nov. 5th.

Glenpool brought the opening kickoff out near midfield before the Cardinals surrounded ball carrier (above). In the photo below, the last two Card defenders tumble as Glenpool finished the drive with a 40 yard run (by #20). Glenpool had reached near the Cards 19 yard line earlier before penalties forced them backwards to the 40.

Collinsville started their first possession at their own 35 (after a Cody Brown kickoff return) and moved down the field on rushes by Lance Kite (#30 above near the 15 yard line), Lenard Creek and Nick Rabbit. The drive was aided by Collinsville's line and 2 late hit personal fouls. Kite carried the final 3 yards (see page 1 photo).
Lenard Creek (#21) picked on a nice gain on this play (increased by a face mask penalty) in Collinsville opening drive of the second half. The Cards started at their own 35 again, then drove as deep as Glenpool's 26 yard line before an errant pitch (or fumble?... I couldn't see) was recovered all the way back at the Card's 38 by Glenpool. Glenpool scored on that possession to tie the score at 14 all at 4:37 in the 3rd quarter.
Nick Rabbit (#22) kept his grip on the ball on this gain as he carried 3 straight times in the opening drive of the second half moving the ball from the Card's 49 to Glenpool's 38.
Justin Scott (#31) makes the defensive stop on this 3rd quarter punt return by Glenpool that was erased by a roughing the punter penalty.
This Justin Scott reverse for short yardage was erased by penalty late in the 3rd quarter. Collinsville's drive stalled at midfield and they punted to start the 4th quarter.
Glenpool's QB barely escaped a sack on this play early in the 4th quarter and threw what turned into a 55 yard touchdown pass that broke the 14-14 tie. Glenpool also settled for a field goal at 5:27 of the 4th quarter after reaching the Card's 5 yard line but were driven backwards by a sack (by Nick Rabbit and J.R. Groenveld) and a tackle for a loss by Joel Howard.
