According to church elder Larry Cloyd, the fire was first reported at 5:15am Wednesday (May 5th) and the Collinsville Fire Department was there within 10 minutes. Cloyd reported they fought the fire for about four hours but the church building and contents appear to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Church member are exploring options for temporary quarters, but plan to meet in the City Hall Annex building for their Wednesday night services (May 5th) and likely there also for Sunday services (May 9th).
A Church member and an insurance adjustor inspect the interior of the church building about 6:15pm Wednesday.

This not the first Collinsville Christian Church lost to fire. The 1926 photo above show an earlier church destroyed by fire in 1933. I believe the Christian Church and Community Church were combined at that time and the 1933 article in "The Collinsville News" describes the Community Church fire.-- Ted
