July 6, 2004 Street Closings For Founder's Day |
The Collinsville City Commission met Tuesday, July 6th at 7pm (at the City Hall Annex) for the regular meeting of the Municipal Authority and Commission.
Selected City Commission Topics:
III. CONSENT: All matters
under "Consent" are considered by the City Commission to be routine
and will be enacted by one motion. Any Commissioner may, however, remove an
item from consent by request.
1. Approval of Minutes of the Collinsville City Commission Regular Meeting
of June 21, 2004.
2. Approval of disbursements and payroll.
3. Cemetery Deed(s)

IV.UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Discussion and possible action to close Main Street from 7th to 12th,and
11th Street from Broadway to Center from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September
11th, 2004 for the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce Founder's Day Celebration.
(Approved) Krista Oslin from the Chamber of Comerce
was present at the meeting. Krista indicated large inflatable kids toys like
those at the recent Hog 'N' Hot Rods show would be on Main Street during Founder's
Day. Oslin also indicated the Chamber was attempting to line up a car show
for Founder's Day.

of June 21, 2004.
b) Approval of disbursements and payroll.
(Approved) Commissioner Pam Porter asked if in conjunction
with payment to SKO (our railroad right-of-way owner based in Pittsburgh,
Kans) the City could include a letter asking them to address several issues
in Collinsville. City Manager Mike Tinker suggested instead that an SKO representative
be requested to address the city commission on a number of issues. Those issues
include: uncut grass, the burnt out building behind the temporary City Hall,
truck parking on rail right of way, and rail crossings at Walnut & Main.
V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. City Manager Report:
* A second Hazard Mitigation meeting this week. This plan is required for
certain federal grants. No surveys were returned from the previous public
request. Will attempt again to get the required citizen feedback. Please
click to fill out a survey and send to the city in any format. You do
not need to identify yourself on the survey.
* Downtown Beautification Funding Recomendation Group
has met 3 times and meets next with "new" fulltime City Planner
Bob Wolfram.
* Bid awarded on 5Th & Main project. Will be meeting Wednesday with ODOT
and the new contractor (Beeline).
* Recent
successes: 4th of July Celebration, city surplus auction, tennis tournament,
Chamber's City Worker appreciation picnic, ...
