The Collinsville City Commission met Monday, April 5th at 7pm (at the City Hall Annex) for a regular meeting of the Municipal Authority and Commissioners. All commissioners and the Mayor were present.

Following a slide presentation by Deborah Berry for Collinsville Downtown, Inc. (the Main Street revitilization program), the commissioners all voted yes for a resolution supporting the city's continued participation in the program.

The commissioners also approved a proclamation supporting the 35th Annual Municipal Clerks Week (May 2-8th).

A resolution authorizing the improvements and $19,000 city funding for the 5th and Main intersection work were approved. The state will fund the majority of the ~$95K project which might begin as early as this May.

One anticipated topic of old business deferred from the March 15th city meeting that could not legally be discussed as it was not placed on the agenda for this meeting. That topic was: "Discussion and possible action regarding prohibiting the sale and/or consumption of alcohol or intoxicating beverages on public right of ways." City Manager Mike Tinker took responsibily for the slip-up as he had filled in for the City Clerk at that previous meeting. Mike apologized for the oversight and assured it would be on the next regular agenda (April 19th).

The meeting switched to executive session to discuss the 2004-05 Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) contract.
