Bob
and Julia Gougler We were married in 1964 and I began teaching in Collinsville in the fall of the same year. My wife is the former Julia Ruminer. We now have three daughters and three grandchildren. I taught math, science and was audio-visual director in Collinsville until 1978. The class of 69 became very dear to me as I was with most of you from 8th grade through your senior year, not only as a teacher but also as a class sponsor. The class of 69 set the bar really high for years to come. We left the school a beautiful water fountain in front of the school. I have remained in contact with many of you even though you live in areas outside of Collinsville. I still have the tie clasp engraved with the "Juniors of 68" presented to me as class sponsor. Remember the school plays and the senior trip to Six Flags at which one member of the class missed the bus when leaving to return to Oklahoma. After leaving teaching in Collinsville I became a computer programmer. While programming for various companies I taught programming evenings which was then TJC (Tulsa Junior College). Serving on the school board of Collinsville was a very rewarding experience. I left the school board in 1987 when my job brought me to Texas. I retired from computers at the end of 2006. I then worked at the local city library until the end of July 2009. I am very active with our church teaching, writing materials and serving on the board. I am very active with citizens police here in Coppell. My wife, Julia, and I welcome the troops returning from war at the DFW airport at least five days a week. DFW is one of the first places they land when returning from the war either for R&R or to stay. They have normally been on a plane for 22 hours. We get to assist in making them feel welcome home. We have recently been on several cruises, three of which were last year. We have only done a 10-day cruise this year. I am very anxious to meet you at the reunion. God Bless, Bob Gougler ( 5/19/2010) |

Just to avoid any further confusion ... I am a competitor to the current day "Collinsville News" . After 88 years in my family my Dad sold the newspaper in 1987. Other frequently asked questions for www.cvilleok.com -- Ted Wright |
